Obituary of Bob Bickerton
It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the age of 88, in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born on May 10, 1932 in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Major Irvine and Caroline (Salter) Bickerton.
Bob was part of a team who originated the Minor Sports Association in Windsor and was coach to many children in baseball, softball and hockey. Mr. Bickerton was a much-loved educator in his second career and many students will remember his smile and raised eyebrow.
He is survived by son, Tim, Maple Ridge, BC; daughters, Cathy (David) Lavers, Scotsburn; Barb (Bruce) VandenEykel, Centreville; Ruth (Glen) Adams, Digby; grandchildren, Carrie (Mike), Evan (Pam), Robert (Portia), Shawn (Sarah), Bridget (Jay), Zach (Chelsea), Emma (Parker) and Ben; great-grandchildren, Emerson, Rhyan, Brayden, Keira, Tatum, Leah and Jaxx; brothers, Carman, Jim; sister, Barb Best; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by wife and best friend, Frances Jean (Barron); grandson, Mark Adams; sisters, Marg Bethune, Ruth Davies; brother, John.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Windsor Elms Village for the wonderful, compassionate care Bob received during his stay there.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). Due to COVID-19, a family interment will be held at a later date.
