Obituary
Blanche passed away on December 5 at the Northcott Care Center in Ponoka at the age of 104 and 2 months, with her daughters by her side.
Blanche is lovingly remembered by her children: Hazel Snyder (Don), Judy Buijs (Buzz), Allen Scheuchner (Terry); her grandchildren Steven Snyder (Cheryl), Donna Garson (Brian), David Snyder (Danielle), Darrel Nicklassen (Sharon), Kim Lausen (Brad), Kelly Nicklassen (Sarina), Ralphine “CJ” Gibbons (John), David Scheuchner, Todd Scheuchner; great-grandchildren Kole, Tori, Paige, Jenna, and Derek Snyder, Brody Scheuchner, Hope Gibbons, Cole, Riley, and Jordan Nicklassen; as well as cousins and friends from the Church of God, Carstairs and First Baptist Church Ponoka. Blanche was predeceased by her husband Dan (1988), and then Arnold (2000) whom she married at the age of 80; her step-daughter Donna Duke, her daughter-in-law Sharon Scheuchner, and her grandsons Shawn Scheuchner and Doug Nicklassen.
Blanche taught grade two for many years, then worked in various areas, most recently cooking for a gang of forestry workers before retiring. She enjoyed reading, travelling, sewing, embroidery, gardening especially flowers, and doing jigsaw puzzles picturing cats. She will be ever remembered for her ready smile for those assisting her and her unwavering faith in God.
