Obituary of Blair Lambert
Blair Lambert
May 2, 1950 – July 6, 2020
Our north star has dimmed. Beloved husband of Lynn (nee Rees) for 47 years, adored father of Mathew (Leslie) of Ottawa and Janice, of Amsterdam, NL and button-popping proud grandpa of Isaac and Andie. Predeceased by parents Leo and Elsie (Jarvis), he is survived by a brother, Allan (Anita-Mayes) of Angus and their children Cynthia and Scott. His family also included “little sister” – Lois Brown and her fine sons, Colin, Sean and Graeme, brother-in-law Larry Rees (aka Cousin Eddie) and his sons Darcy (Emily) and Dylan, each a welcome part of his life.
Coach, as he was known in the column Conversations, was blessed with a best buddy in Dave Stankiewicz (Maureen) of Medina, Ohio, whose four daughters – Kristin, Jenn, Colleen and Katie – were a source of delight, even when they drained the hot water and used every towel in the house. True friends Peggy and Paul Senior, of Kitchener, go all the way back to Grade 8 at LCVI, and other good friends were a big part of a life well lived.
He leaves a huge hole in our hearts but his sense of loyalty, fairness and fun is evident in his beautiful children whom he described as good looking like their father. His expressions will go down in family lore. And if they don’t –“Your bum’s an onion.”
A celebration of life – and you can bet it will be a good one – will be held at a later date.
