Blair Allison Roland April 4th 1933 November 28th 2020

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a wonderful man, Blair Roland, who passed away peacefully in his sleep at 1:10 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020.
Blair was predeceased by his parents Henry and Alice (Coleman) Roland; his wife of 52 years, Muriel “Mo” (Leverick) Roland (2004); and his brother Brian Roland (2020). He leaves to celebrate his life his son Alan and daughter-in-law Lisa, daughter Laura (Paul), and son Paul; grandchildren Meaghan and Kirsten, Alexa, Maya, and Emily; great-grandsons Tian and Regan; and sisters-in-law Patricia Leverick and Johanna Roland.
Blair was born on a sunny spring day on April 4, 1933 in Nokomis, SK. He spent the first part of his life living in and around the Nokomis and Govan area before moving with his family to Regina. After attending Central Collegiate, he worked various odd jobs before settling in to his lifelong career in his early 20’s at The Co-operators Insurance, where he worked tirelessly up the ranks to achieve the status of Vice-President Life Division. Blair and his family moved to Victoria, BC and lived there from early 1966 to the summer of 1973 after which they returned to Regina. When he wasn’t working and travelling for business meetings, he would partake in his many leisure activities which included curling, golfing (I vividly remember that hole-in-one trophy!), fishing, hunting, camping, wood working, tending to his garden, and many road trips with his family.
Blair had the good fortune of retiring at the tender age of 53 and a few years later, he and Mo were bit by the “snowbird” bug at which time they would pack up the trailer and head down to South Padre Island, Texas for many winters to come. Blair was one of the few people in the world with every enviable personality trait: he was very kind, humble, selfless, quiet, very intelligent, and non-judgmental – he could find the good in anyone he met and could put a positive spin on any situation. I believe this is why he is the most well-respected and well-liked person we’ve ever known.
Our family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Blair’s “second home” College Park II Retirement Residence, and at Pasqua Hospital 3D and Palliative Care. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no service will be held.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Blair Allison Roland April 4th 1933 November 28th 2020..
