Bill Remenda 2020

April 14, 1939 – November 25, 2020
William (Bill) is survived by his wife, Darlene (Reddekopp) Remenda; 3 sons, Doug (Dawn), Don (Jennifer), Drew (Michele), stepson Tyler (Nicole) Nixon, brother Bob (Alicia) Remenda and 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, mother-in-law Phyllis Reddekopp and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Dymetro and Patricia (Hladych), sisters Bernice (Wayne) Pizzey, Leona Remenda, brother Lawrence (Audrey), father-in-law Ben Reddekopp, brother-in-law Rick Reddekopp, and sister-in-law Marilyn Reddekopp.
Bill had so many friends through hockey, baseball, and work which included his own company Remenda Electric. I can’t begin to name you all, but I would be remiss if I didn’t make special mention of Bill Orban, Ray and Alva Jeffrey! He was a world youth baseball umpire who travelled to places like New York and Australia. He joined the portrait wall in the Baseball Hall of Fame at the field house. His main love was hockey which meant late nights and friendly brewskis! He asked for no tears, but to be remembered with lots of reminiscing and laughter and of course music.
There will be a come and go viewing at Funk’s Funeral Home, 1010 – 7th Street, Rosthern, SK on Friday, November 27, 2020 between 4:30-6:00 pm. Due to the covid restrictions, we will celebrate Bill with a memorial get-together later in 2021. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 2550 – 12 Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 or his home away from home Sherbrooke Community Centre, 401 Acadia Dr. Saskatoon, SK S7H 2E7, where he was recognized as ‘the million dollar smile! Arrangements are entrusted to Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK (306) 232-5245 (www.funksfuneralhome.ca)
