Beverley Diane “Bev” Shearer
Shearer (Mann), Beverley Diane “Bev” – Age 73, Shortts Lake. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverley Diane Shearer on July 12, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro after a lengthy illness with cancer.
She was born in Toronto, ON, to the late Margaret Mann on December 19, 1946. She is survived by her husband, Sandy; son, Shawn (Jenn); granddaughter, Charlotte; niece, Laura Steven; nephew, Dale Steven. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her sister, Cheryl as well as several aunts and uncles.
She worked at Borough of Etobicoke and Polaroid in Toronto and Torins Mfg. in Oakville, ON. In 1975, she moved to Halifax with Sandy to open the first Tim Horton Franchise in Halifax. She served on several Tim Horton committees.
The family would like to thank the VON nurses and caregivers, the nurses in the Chemo Dept. and Palliative Care Unit as well as several doctors, especially Dr. Cook, Dr. W. Brown and Dr. C. Smith.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A family burial will be held at a later date in Onslow Island Cemetery. Donations in Bev’s memory may be made to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation or to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation.
