Obituary of Betty Jean Stright
Betty Jean Stright, née Towns, passed away on June 30, 2020, in her 85th year. Betty was a very devoted wife to Garnet for 67 years, and mother to their three sons. The eldest, John (Virginia), predeceased his mother by only 17 days. Betty was survived by sons Larry (Bonnie) and Rick (Deb). She was grandmother to Cara (Jeff) Stoll, Colleen (Rick) Vandewalle, Sheila, Jason (Catherine), Tabatha (Brian) Fisher and Johnathan (Sarah), and Great Gramma to Mackenzie (Alannah), Shae Lynn, Liam, Raegan, Ryan, Darren, Alexis, Nicholas, Olivia, Addison, Spencer and Evie. She was also blessed to be great-great grandmother to Lena and Miller. Betty was predeceased by her parents (Gladys Snow Ward Towns and Herbert Towns), siblings, and in-laws. Though she was born in Sarnia, Betty had a love for the East Coast and enjoyed traveling there to visit family. She loved visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Betty enjoyed the home she and Garnet built in Carleton Place in 1976, and her job in parts sales at Champion Motor Graders there, but missed her family in Goderich and so moved back to the area in 2005. She will be so missed by all of her family and her four-legged buddy Mickey. Betty had a feeling the end of her time on earth was approaching before her son John passed, and asked him to get Heaven ready for her. We believe they are enjoying eternity together now.
At her request there will be no service, and cremation has taken place. Her ashes will be scattered at the Stright home farm in New Brunswick.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Betty
