Betty Violet J Bushell 19312020

Betty Violet J. Bushell
1931-2020
It is with profound sadness that the Bushell family announces
the passing of Betty (nee MacBean) at Pine Grove Nursing Home on
November 9, 2020. Betty was born in Stanley, NB, July 11, 1931. She is
survived by her loving and devoted husband, Victor; son, Glenn;
daughters-in-law, Tammy and Maria; granddaughters, Katelyn and Cathy;
grandsons, Michael and Cameron; numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was
predeceased by her youngest son, Chriss (aged 49); brothers, Fraser,
Angus, and Eugene.
Betty attended Fredericton High School. She worked as a
receptionist and dental assistant to Dr. B. Ross and actively
participated in YMCA functions, YN/UP group, Wilmot United Church.
Betty married Vic in April 1955, a UNB graduate, and they moved in
career paths to several locations in Canada including Ottawa, ON,
Prince Albert, SK, and St. Lambert, QC, finally spending the last 26
years until retirement in the little village of St. Bruno located on
the outskirts of Montreal where Vic commuted to CN’s head
office in the city. During this time they raised 2 sons, Glenn and
Chriss, and Betty actively spearheaded meetings of the Order of St.
Luke, church functions in St. Bruno, as well as being a dedicated
volunteer at Montreal General Hospital. Upon retirement and returning
to Fredericton Betty again was involved in the activities of the
Fredericton Chapter of OSL which she cherished so dearly as well as
the many church functions and groups at Christ Church (Parish)
Church.
Betty enjoyed photography, gardening, reading, and will
always be remembered as a wonderful cook and for her love and
generosity to the less fortunate. Some of the families most memorable
days were spending the month of July each year at Magaguadavic Lake
and winter skiing at Bromont, Jay Peak, and Echo with après
ski of pizza and a homemade supper of egg McMuffin.
Betty and Vic enjoyed 65 plus years of togetherness and death
is only temporary as we will all be together once again at home safely
with our Lord in heaven.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service
for immediate family
members only will be held in the Fredericton Rural
Cemetery on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:00 am. A livestream of
the service will be publically available to view at the following

For those who wish, donations in Betty’s memory can
be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Christ Church (Parish)
Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
God saw you getting
tired
When a cure was not to be
So He closed His
arms around you
And whispered “Come to
Me”.
You didn’t
deserve what you went through
So He gave you rest.
God’s Garden must be beautiful
He only takes
the best.
And when we saw you
sleeping
So peaceful and free from pain,
We
could not wish you back
To suffer that
again.
