Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Elizabeth “Betty” May (Moore) Rodgers which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, January 6th, 2020. Born 1933, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Irvine and Margaret (Baxter) Moore.
Betty is survived by her daughters Wendy Ryan (Frank) of Baxters Corner, Sally Bourque (Michael) of Baxters Corner; son Irvine Rodgers (Kim) of Baxters Corner; sister Doris Weaver of Baxters Corner; sisters-in-law Helen Dalling and Margaret Rodgers; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband Russell Rodgers, sister Donna Allen, granddaughter Amy Bourque, great grandson Marcus Finch, niece Janice Weaver and brothers-in-law Glendon Moore, Gordon Rodgers, Gordon Dalling, Russell Allen and David Weaver.
A special thank you to all of the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital, especially the Palliative Care Unit, for your care and compassion. Thank you to all of the staff at the Loch Lomond Village and to all of the residents who were like family, your kindness will not be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Saturday, January 11th from 11 to 1 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Barnabas Anglican Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
