Betty Oakley November 27 1947 April 14 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we share that our mom, wife, sister, grandma and friend, Elizabeth “Betty” Oakley, 73, of Barrie, Ontario, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2020, at RVH in Barrie.
We would like to thank the nurses and doctors at RVH for their care and support, and also extend our appreciation for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers expressed by friends and family during this difficult time.
There are few words that can truly express the magnitude of who Betty was – best friend, lifelong sweetheart, loving mom and grandma…. our everything. She was a woman of grace and class, and her kindness and compassion was only exceeded by her love for friends and family. Betty could tell the best jokes, and never failed to add spirit and laughter wherever she was. She loved music, and anyone that knew her well, knew she never passed on an opportunity to sing – and for those who were lucky enough to hear her, they will always remember just how lovely she sounded. Betty was, and is, beautiful, inside and out.
Betty is predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Jean Miller, and survived by her husband, Bob Oakley of Barrie, her daughter Jennifer Oakley of Abu Dhabi, son Michael Oakley of Barrie, and grandson Liam. She is also survived by her two brothers, Don Miller (Peggy) and Murray Miller (Lesley), both of Barrie Ontario, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Bob and Betty were partners in life, in business (33 years) and spent 51 incredible years together. The love they shared was unconditional, deep, and true. It has been a constant source of inspiration for those around them, and is a love story in its purest form. Growing up surrounded by love like this has been the greatest gift our mom and dad gave us. We learned to be resilient and kind, open and affectionate, and to never go to sleep without saying “I love you”.
So, to our mom, wife, grandma, sister and friend…..we will ALWAYS love you.
We will have a small service with immediate family. At a later date, we will have a Celebration of Life, and hope friends and family will join us to share fellowship and wonderful memories of Betty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the RVH Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family through adamsfuneralhome.ca
