KLENK, Hilda Elizabeth (Betty)
After a long courageous battle with cancer, it is with heart felt sorrow that the family announces the passing of Betty Klenk (Merritt) of Edmonton, Alberta on August 18th, 2020 three weeks shy of her 85th Birthday. She is survived by her son David (Chantel), her daughter Donna (Bert) Simmons; 5 grandchildren, Nina (Shawn), Samantha, Justin, Josie (Dustin) and Brent; three great grandchildren, Danika, Kai and Jack; she will be fondly remembered by her dear family friend Carol Curtis along with all her friends and staff from the St. Michaels Seniors Day Program. She was predeceased by her parents Campbell & Beth Johnson; her first husband Bruce Merritt, her second husband Edward Klenk, her sister Ethel and her grandson Shaun. Betty will be missed very much by all that knew her for her beautiful white hair, her sparkling blue eyes and the sweet sound of her giggles. We would like to express how grateful we are from receiving all the care, compassion and support from Dr. Elise Morley and Lana of Edmonton, AB. Do to COVID restrictions, a Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations gratefully accepted to St. Michaels Extended Care Centre c/o Seniors Day Program, 7404 – 139 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5C 3H7.
