Betty Joan McNutt
Betty Joan McNutt (MacDonald), 88, North River. The very best of mothers is you, mum. Kind, patient, funny and full of love.
A Teacher, wife, and mother passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 18, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
She was predeceased by parents, Lambert and Olivia (Patriquin) MacDonald; husband, Chester Robert McNutt “Buster”; brothers, Lambert, Burchell, Murdock and Ronald MacDonald; sister, Doreen Seaman; son in law, Randy Lindsay.
She is survived by daughters, Trudy (Tracey) Hill; Bianca (Randy) Lindsay, Tamy McNutt (Scott Higgins); sons, Kim McNutt (Winnie Pettis), Shawn McNutt (Natalie Sampson), Kelly McNutt; grandchildren, Josh, Amanda, Tyler, Vanessa, Teela, Colton, Brandon, Travis; great grandchildren, Gavin, Carter, Lilly Mae and Lincoln.
Betty was employed as a teacher for the Colchester East Hants District School Board from 1950-1986, a job that she enjoyed immensely – and her students as well.
The family wish to thank the VON for their excellent and compassionate care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro from where visitation will be held Thursday, September 24 from 1pm until time of funeral service at 2pm. Student Minister, April Hart will officiate with interment to follow in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Masks are to be worn and Covid-19 precautions will be in place. Live-Webcasting of Betty’s service will be available at 1:58pm Atlantic Time and will remain online for future viewing. Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
