1937-2020
Betty Jean Weir – age 83, formerly of New Minas,
peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020. Born in Port
Williams, she was a daughter of the late Avery Bezanson and Hilda
Bezanson-Ivers. Betty is survived by her daughter, Chardell (Scott)
Brydon, of Black Rock; brothers, Carl (Juanita), of Port Williams,
Charles (Marilyn) Bezanson, of Lockhartville and Kenneth Bezanson of
Port Williams; sister, Vivian (Gilbert) Schofield, of Florida; and
grandchildren, Kyle Evan (Delaney) Brydon and Mataya Brydon. In
addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Rita Pick.
Betty will be missed dearly by friends and family. She was baptized as
one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 1, 1974. She will
always be remembered for her strong belief in the Bible’s
promise of a resurrection to perfect everlasting life on earth and she
diligently shared that message with anyone who would listen. Her
family and friends will remember all the cute and lovable stories they
have with her and they look forward to the time they can all sing
“You Are My Sunshine” together and make new memories
with her again. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be
held via Zoom at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2021. If you wish to

Donations in memory of Betty may be made through www.jw.org or the
Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements
have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, Kentville.
