Betty Ann Jacobson May 18th 2020

It is with sadness that we share that Betty Ann Jacobson passed away at home Monday, May 18, 2020, near Beiseker, Alberta surrounded by family and friends. Betty was born in Calgary, Alberta November 28, 1965. She was the youngest of three siblings and grew up on a farm west of Beiseker, Alberta.
After High school she attended PAA, Walla Walla and Loma Linda University graduating with a degree in Occupational Therapy (O.T). She worked as an O.T first in Grande Prairie, Alberta, then Foothills Hospital and Didsbury Hospital in Alberta. She was an excellent O.T who, when providing care for her clients, always went the extra mile. She was conscientious, thorough, kind and cared deeply for her clients.
Betty married DJ (who as Betty would say “all other guys were boring until I met you”) in Calgary, Alberta on December 29, 2002. They lived in Calgary briefly before building a home in Airdrie and then moving out to the country in 2008.
She was incredibly talented and creative. Her love of gardening came from working with her mom in the garden as a child. She loved to cook/bake and host large gatherings for friends. This talent was also evident in her card making. She loved to give joy to others by making them home made cards which were masterpieces! And she loved to teach others how to make cards. She was affectionately known as Miss Betty, teacher, and Auntie Betty to her students.
Betty had a great love for animals which started as a small child on the farm and continued throughout her life. Her most beloved fur family were Scooby and Smokey-Postum.
She was also the happiest when she was behind the lens of her camera. Betty loved to go out into nature and take pictures of all of God’s creatures and creations.
Betty was a woman of God who lived and shared her faith in the Lord Jesus with those around her and helped others who were struggling in life who had questions and were interested in knowing more about God.
She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Irene Gieck. She is survived by her loving husband, DJ; brother, David Gieck (Sheri); and sister, Ellen (J.J) Hutson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
