Obituary
KUJAWA, Bessie
It is with great sorrow that the family of Betty Christine Kujawa, nee Brydges, announces her passing. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 19, 2020.
Betty was born June 29, 1932, to Orlon and Reta Brydges on a lovely farm outside the small R.M. of Edam, Saskatchewan. As the third oldest of 10 children, Betty was surrounded by many things that would bring her joy throughout the rest of her life: babies and children, gardens, horses and other animals, knitting, books, sunshine and laughter. She also learned to be an excellent cook from her mother. Betty’s first career was as a teacher, and later the principal (of a 2 teacher school!)
Betty married law student Serge Kujawa in Saskatoon in 1955, and they moved to Regina in 1959.
Betty fulfilled a lifelong dream to work in the medical profession when she graduated from nursing school in 1979.
In her later years, Betty enjoyed volunteering, especially babysitting and driving friends and neighbours to medical appointments.
Betty is survived by her 6 children and 4 grandchildren: Ivy (Kyra), Judy, Kim (Pam, Kate and Petra), Mandi (Hana), Melodi and Melissa; and 7 siblings, and many nieces and nephews. She also had long-Term close friendships, from Edam to Regina
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Many thanks to the palliative care nurses in Saskatoon who helped Betty spend her last summer living with her family members.
