Bertha Elizabeth Walsh
1924-2020
Bertha Elizabeth (Waye) Walsh, wife of the late Clarence Walsh of Wayerton, NB, passed away on Thursday, January 2nd, 2020 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 95.
Bertha was retired from the Heath Steele Sport Camp, was a seamstress, homemaker, quilt maker and loved gardening. Bertha was also a member of Trout Brook Ladies Aid (Wesley United Church).
Bertha is survived by one daughter: Peggy Sobey of Maple Glen, NB; two sons: Wendell Walsh (Lena) of Wayerton, NB and Blaine Walsh (Faith) of Newcastle, NB; nine grandchildren: Laine, Crystal, Heather, Wendy, Leslie, Scott, Lori, Lindsey and Sheldon; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Bertha is predeceased by one brother: Lloyd; one sister: Noreen Harris; grandchild: Kelly Ann and son in law: Wendell Sobey.
Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi on Monday, January 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi on Tuesday, January 7th at 11 AM with Reverend Geza Szemök officiating. Burial will take place in the Wesley United Church Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, in Bertha’s memory, donations may be made to the Wesley United Church Cemetery Fund – Trout Brook.
