The passing of

late William Edward Johnston, occurred at the Pine Grove Nursing Home
in Fredericton on Wednesday February 19, 2020. Born in Doaktown, NB on
April 3, 1926, Bertie was a daughter of the late James and Bessie

affiliated with the Pentecostal Church. She and her late husband Bill
operated a Janitorial Service in Fredericton for a number of years.
Bertie will also be remembered as a much-loved Nanny who worked in
private homes devoting herself to the care and nurturing of those
children in her charge.
The last
surviving member of her immediate family, Bertie held a very special
place in her heart for her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and
great nephews who survive
her.
Aside from her
parents and her husband Bill, Bertie was predeceased by an infant son,
Thomas; sisters, Alma Harris, Mabel Doak and Jean Johnston and by
brothers, Virgil, Raymond, Hedley and Glenwood Ballard; also, by an
infant brother Merlin
Ballard.
Bertie’s request for no visitation will be
respected, however, friends are welcome to join the family for a
graveside committal service to be held at the Doaktown Pentecostal
Cemetery in the spring.
The family
wish to acknowledge Pine Grove Nursing Home for the excellent and
compassionate care Bertie received while a resident
there.
