Bertha A. Murrell
February 2, 1922-March 25, 2020
Bertha was born in Brentford, Middle, England, the 5th child of a family of 12. She married Adrian “Ed” Murrell on May 22, 1943 and emigrated to Canada in 1945 as one of the first war brides to arrive in Kelowna, BC. She spent a lot of her years in Lillooet, BC working at the Lillooet District Hospital firstly as a nurses’ aide, then as a LPN eventually taking over the sterilizing room. Bertha was also very active with the Catholic Church in Lillooet. In 2004, she relocated to Penticton to be close to family.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Adrian “Ed” and son Adrian “Norm” .
She is survived by Adrian’s wife, Arlene; and Bertha’s other son David (Diane); 7 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
