Bernie Gilfoy 1953 2020

Obituary of Bernie Gilfoy
Bernie Gilfoy, of Williams Point, passed away on December 17, 2020 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Bernie was born on June 19, 1953 to Joan (MacLellan) and Bernard Gilfoy Sr.
Bernie lived nearly his entire life in the community of Williams Point and was very proud of his community. Bernie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly (Brosha) who rarely left his side, and his children, of whom he was so proud, Jennifer (Stephen George), Chris (Lisa), Susan (Scott Murray), and Pat (Natasha). He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, who he bragged about every chance he had, and siblings Sheila (John Maccormick), Joy (Tommy Watts), and Brian (Cathy), along with the many Brosha in-laws.
Dad’s biggest regret is not living long enough to see the Leafs win another Stanley Cup, but no one can live forever.
As per Bernie’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 21, 2020 in St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Rev. Donald MacGillivray presiding. COVID-19 Protocols will be in place. The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Jane Anne Howard and Dr. David Cudmore and the incredible staff of St. Martha’s Palliative Care unit for their wonderful care of Bernie over the last few weeks. Online condolences and memorial donations to the St. Martha’s Hospital Foundation -Palliative Care unit may be made by visiting www.MacIsaacs.ca.
