Bernadine’s Obituary
NICKERSON, Bernadine Louise – age 84, Yarmouth, formerly of Carleton, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born September 5, 1935 in South Belleville, she was a daughter to the late Arthur & Angèle (Meuse) LeBlanc. Bernadine was a homemaker and also helped her husband Lendal run the Carleton General Store for 13 years. She was a member of TOPS and of the former Carleton branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and she enjoyed flowers and cooking. She is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Thomas) Kelsey, Sand Beach; a son, Darryl (Iona) Nickerson, Annapolis Valley; grandchildren, Michelle, Cody, Duggan and by great grandchildren, Kyla, Jonah and Emily. Also surviving is a brother, Oscar (Margaret) LeBlanc, Carleton and a sister, Helen Belliveau, Pubnico. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lendal Nickerson, as well as by a son, Randy Nickerson; a grandson, Matthew Cottreau; a sister, Doris d’Entremont and by brothers, Daniel LeBlanc and Hector LeBlanc. Interment will take place in the Carleton Cemetery. A funeral Mass will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
