Berendina Hendrina Lamberta Margarita Harris nee Volman
Passed away peacefully at Heritage Green Nursing Home, Stoney Creek on the morning of December 28, 2020. Born in Leeuwarden Netherlands October 15, 1923, “Dini” was the beloved wife of the late Christopher John Joseph Harris. They were married in Toronto in 1947 after meeting in Holland during World War Two. Dini will be sadly missed by her sisters Betty ( Malden, Netherlands) and Ada ( Arnhem, Netherlands) as well as by her brother Albert ( Edmonton Alberta). Our dear Tante Dini will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives in Canada, Holland and Switzerland.
During her lifetime, Dini worked as a Seamstress for Eatons while her husband Chris worked at Canadian National Railways. She was a grand traveler and an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed camping and hiking. Dini adored all animals and supported many of their charities. Dini loved dancing and would never pass up on a night out . She was also a great lover of music and knew the words to innumerable melodies.
The Volman family wishes to express our gratitude and very special thanks to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Heritage Green Nursing Home who cared for Dini so very well all the years she was resident there.
