Beatrice Lake Foote November 19 1939 to June 15 2020

We are saddened to announce her sudden passing in the early hours of June 15, 2020. She is predeceased by her loving husband William Foote, and daughter Sandy MacDow. Survived by sons Bert (Noelle), and Billy (Donna); and her grandchildren whom she adored Adam, Alex, Will, Erica, Duncan and Sean. Also left to mourn is her only surviving uncle, Ed Thornhill and wife Marjorie in Nova Scotia. She will also be sadly missed by her best friend for over 50 years, Audrey Monk and husband Carl, and her dear friend Olive Carter.
Born and raised on Brunette Island, a tiny island off the coast of the Burin Peninsula, on November 19, 1939. Beatrice moved to St. John’s in 1964 and married the best man on the island, Bill Foote. She raised two sons and her family became her priority. A doting and loving mother and grandmother is her legacy, but Bea was renowned for her homemade desserts and cherished opportunities to have a grand chat and cup of coffee at the table with anyone.
We would like to thank the staff at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their incredible care and compassion towards mom while she was there.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
