Beatrice Geraldine Stratton
1934-2020
Beatrice G. Stratton of Nackawic, NB went home peacefully to be with
her Lord on January 20, 2020 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital with
family by her side.
Beatrice was born on May 22, 1934 at Fredericton, NB, a daughter of
the late Joseph and Frances (Mazerolle) Whittey. She attended
Nackawic Baptist Church and she especially enjoyed time spent with her
children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Eugene Stairs, Kathy Stone (Wayne),
Stephen Stairs (Debbie), Mary Stairs, Richard Stairs (Kay), Connie
Graham (Donald), Dana Stairs (Tracy) and Patti Ingraham (Jock);
thirteen grandchildren, Melissa (Peter), Jason (Lindsay), Eddie,
Michael (Laura), Tanya (Scott), Veronica(Kyle), Mandy (Andy), Jodi
(Jimmy), Chevy (Josie), Samantha (Brent), Riley, Troy (Heather) and
Jessica (Eric); twenty-one great grandchildren; one great great
grandson; a brother, Rev. Fred Whittey (Lilyan); several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband,
Edward Stairs; her second husband, Rev. George Stratton; a son Gary
Stairs; a granddaughter Laura Ingraham; brothers, Donald and Joey and
a sister, Jean Varney.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral
service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 2 pm from the
funeral home chapel with Pastor Dan Grove and Pastor Rick McFadyen
officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Interment
will be at a later date at Temperance Vale Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Beatrice, the
family has suggested the Louise Breau Memorial Medical Trust Fund,
Nackawic Baptist Church or Temperance Vale Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Mum’s wonderful neighbours, the
doctors and nurses at DECH and the paramedics for the excellent care
she received.
