Basil Alfred Lawrence, 91, of Lower Woodstock NB passed away
on Tuesday October 6, 2020 at the Carleton Manor Nursing Home
Woodstock NB. Basil was born in Northampton NB on April 14, 1929 son
of the late Alfred and Annie Lawrence.
Basil is survived by his wife, Marie Lawrence, children,
Debbie Vail, Andy Lawrence (Cindy), Ellen Lawson (Colin),
grandchildren, Stephen, Stephanie, Sarah, Jessica, Brittany, John,
great grandchildren, Oliver, Spencer, and extended families, sister,
Daisy Campbell, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Basil was predeceased by sons in law,
Harry London, Bobby Vail, sister, Florence McBride and a brother,
Frank Lawrence.
Basil was an active member of Woodstock Baptist Church
serving as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. The men’s
Prayer breakfast was one of his favorite times.
Basil’s passion was his amazing garden. He spent
several hours each day tending it. Many people enjoyed a taste of his
hard work including all his family.
Basil was a mechanic working at the Monteith Brothers and
Connell Chrysler as well other places.
A special Thank You to the Carleton Manor Staff, Dr. Boyle,
Home Care workers and Mary Gilks.
A private family visitation and funeral service will be held.
A public graveside and interment service will be held at the Lower
Jacksonville Cemetery on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 3
PM.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the
Lower Jacksonville Cemetery or to the Woodstock Baptist Church
Building Fund.
Due to COVID 19 social distancing and mask are
required.
