Obituary of Barbara Ann MacGillivray
MacGillivray, Barbara (nee Barton)
(September 30, 1939 – February 5, 2020)
Peacefully at the Ottawa Heart Institute surrounded by the love of her family Barbara MacGillivray passed away at the age of 80. Predeceased by her parents, Sadie Clark and William Barton. Dearly loved sister of Marilyn Lasalle (the late Arden), Shirley Allen (Murray), Bruce (Bobbie), and Gary (Jean). Predeceased by her brothers Delbert (the late Jean), Keith (the late Vera) and Everett (Louise) and her sisters Joan P. MacDonald (Coleman), Merle Bullock (the late Braden) and Vivian Windsor (the late Ross). Fondly remembered by her large extended family. She will be especially missed by her many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who she shared a special bond with. Barbara never missed an opportunity to encourage and support her family, and she will be dearly missed for all the kindness and love that she shared. Barbara spent her professional career as a Nurse and worked for much of her career in Cornwall. At Barbara’s request, her family will gather in the spring for a graveside interment at McLaughlin Cemetery where they will celebrate her life of caring and giving. In memory of Barbara, donations to the Kidney Foundation Canada – Ontario Branch and the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
