Aurélien Dupuis (July 17, 1929 – May 31, 2020)
Born on a small farm in Noelville Ontario, Aurélien was the twelfth of thirteen children. His mother died when he was 5 years old; he and two other siblings were placed in an orphanage until they were older.
In April 1959, he married the love of his life, Elaine Goulet. They lived in Sudbury, Ontario and raised three children, Marc-Aurèle, Linda and Cindée. They are now the proud grand-parents of Kalil, Sahana, Kirin and Kai.
In 1991, they built a beautiful retirement home in the Kootenays to be closer to their children who had all moved west. Aurélien was a true nature lover, and spent most of his time outside tending his cherished gardens, building rock walls, and managing their 12 acre forest property.
An artist and storyteller at heart, Aurélien had a great love for the French language, which motivated the writing of over a dozen books. He had a beautiful tenor voice, and was always asked to sing at family weddings. There was always a sweet childhood song in his heart, and he often seized the moment to sing one to his beloveds.
Aurélien was a gentle, patient and sensitive soul. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Aurelien Al Pierre Dupuis July 17 1929
