Auguste is in the presence of the Lord passing away in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, On February 25, 2020 She had spent five weeks there after a mild stroke. She was able to speak and think clearly but too weak to support herself or walk. Despite a series of infections, she maintained her sense of humour and clarity of mind until near the end when pain medications increased. The family and friends were with her night and day. She died in her sleep with her daughter Johanna by her side.
At her request, she and the family celebrated her late husband Johan’s 99th birthday on February 18th with Spumante and a lively round of “Lang zal ze Leven [Long shall she live]
Auguste was 96 in January and lived a wonderful, blessed and productive life with a positive attitude, full of gratitude, a wonderful sense of humour, a strong faith and love for Jesus. She longed for heaven to be with Him and reunited with loved ones who had gone before.
She was the daughter of Jan Kessler and Nicoline Kessler-Jung.

Professional services have been entrusted to the care of Zohr Family Funeral Home, Killaloe. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the HiWay Pentecostal Church, Barrie. Visitation with the family from 12pm until time of service at 2pm. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Lyndoch Baptist Cemetery.
