Wile, Audrey Mae (Armsworthy) – May 8, 1934- February 1, 2020
It is with great sadness, we, the family of Audrey Mae (Armsworthy) Wile, announce her passing on February 1, 2020 following a brief and very courageous battle with cancer. She died peacefully with family by her side. Born May 8, 1934, in Onslow Mountain, Audrey was the daughter of the late Herman and Ena (Crowe) Armsworthy. Audrey worked for a few years at Standfield’s Factory, Truro, but the majority of her career was spent helping Burt run the successful family business, Burton Wile Ltd, while raising their family. In her spare time, Audrey enjoyed a wide variety of activities which included bowling, curling, golf, skiing, playing cards, attending dances and travel. She especially enjoyed leisure time spent with family and friends at Sutherland’s Lake and Brule Beach. Audrey spent a great deal of time having fun with her grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud. She was a member of the Trinity United Church formerly known as Onslow United Church and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Along with her parents, Audrey was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Burton and her brother, Ivan Armsworthy. She is survived by son, Larry (Stellamarie), Truro; daughter, Carolyn (Jerry), Truro and daughter, Angela (Mike) Innisfil, ON; eight grandchildren, Jodi, Courtney, Candace, Damien, Naudia, Gabrielle, Mason and Drew; nine great grandchildren, Avah, Isabella, Austin, Dimock, Nellie, Myla, Oscar, Jett, and Hugo as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 6th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with funeral following on Friday, February 7th, at 11:00 a.m. at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer society.
