Audrey Collins 2020

Obituary of Audrey Collins
Audrey Collins – November 8, 1924 – December 23, 2020 (born Audrey Elizabeth Tew)
Throughout her 96 years, Audrey has been an inspiration to us all in her unfailing optimism and good spirits. Her family home in Toronto with her parents (Annie and Edward Tew) and siblings, Eddie (Doris), Irene (Don) and Anne was a place of love, laughter and music. In her later years, she was comforted by happy memories of drives in the country and sing-songs around the piano. She met her husband, John at a church dance, and he continued to be her favourite dancing partner through 50 years of marriage. She enjoyed her working life, but was happy to be a proud Mum to “her girls” Susan (Paul) and Lisa (Craig). Always wanting to see everyone happy, she was a matchmaker and a romantic at heart. As a loving Grandma, she took great pleasure in the marriages and engagements of her 5 grandchildren: Mark (Amanda), David (Angelica), Scott (Katie), Michael (Cheryl) and Colleen (Mike). She was also blessed with 3 beautiful great-granddaughters: Katie, Kenzie and Victoria + 1 special delivery coming in the New Year. Audrey believed in the power of prayer and while her prayers have brought her home, her uplifting spirit lives on. The family would like to thank the staff at Chartwell Wynfield Retirement Home for their extraordinary care.
Due to the restrictions imposed with the CODID 19 Pandemic, a private family funeral will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home on Tuesday December 29th, at 1:00pm. For those wishing to view, there will be a livestream of the service available, at the following link.

  1. Dear Susan and Lisa
I wish to extend my sincere condolences to you and your families. I have such fond memories of my time with your mother and the Tew family. The Selby family shared many special occasions together with your mom growing up.
    Sincerely
    Elizabeth Dilworth
