Arthur Russell Dykens – 87, of
Canning, NS. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Arthur Russell Dykens on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in
Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton.
Born in Scott’s Bay, he was a son of the late Wiley and
Clara (Tupper) Dykens. Arthur was employed with the
Evergreen Home for Special Care Home, Kentville, for many years. He
was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Kings Branch 006,
Kentville. He enjoyed playing darts throughout the province. Arthur
was a much loved husband, father and grandfather and he will be
greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is
survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Julia (Pineo) Dykens; sons
Terry (Barbara) Dykens, Brian (Stella) Dykens, Kevin (Donna) Dykens,
and Clarke Dykens; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and a
sister Edith. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Dykens;
sisters Dorothy, Leora and Cora; brothers Theodore, Dexter and
Leslie. Cremation has taken place and there will be no
visitation, by request. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later
date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
