Arthur Ralph MacDonald
The death of A. Ralph
MacDonald occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, July 29, 2020
in his 86th year.
Ralph was born in Shediac and
grew up in McKee’s Mills, Kent Co. He was the son of the
late Arthur and Jean (Mugridge) MacDonald.
Ralph is survived by his wife,
Lois (Johnston) and four children, John (Darlene), Ann, Rod (Susan)
and Jamie (Lisa). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan,
Gretchen, Brendan, Ella and Jack. He was very proud of his
grandchildren. Spending time with them and watching them grow up was
very special to Grampie.
In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by his brother, Stuart and sister-in-law, Delma
Johnston and brother-in-law Ralph
Johnston.
Ralph was formerly employed by
Canadian National Railways, retiring in 1991 after 39 years of
service. He was a faithful and active member of St. John’s
United Church and served as an Elder, was a member of the
Men’s Chorus as well as being a Member and Chairman of the
Board of Trustees. Ralph enjoyed curling as well as playing golf with
his friends at Royal Oaks, being a “Starter” for Ladies
Night and golfing with the CN Pensioner’s Association. Up
until last year, Ralph also volunteered with the Karing
Kitchen.
Ralph always put his family
interests first and was active in the Moncton Minor Hockey Association
and was a leader in the Scouting Movement for 20
years.
A private family service will
be held, with The Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Interment will be in
Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
