Tributes
Arthur James (Bud) McGinnis
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bud McGinnis. He died three days after his 98th birthday, on New Year’s Eve. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 72 years, Gladys, his daughter Brenda Reid (Peter Cameron), his son Cameron (Yona), his daughter Heather Screaton (Jim) and daughter-in-law, Irene Searles. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Lisa and Kenny Cameron, Marin, Charlotte and Ryder McGinnis, Elaine and Alan Screaton, and Duncan and Lauren McGinnis, great-granddaughters Eva, Cassady and Cleo, and special friend, Donna Paige. He is predeceased by his son Malcolm. After completing his PhD in biochemistry, Bud worked as a research scientist and manager at Agriculture Canada during his professional career. He worked on international projects in Pakistan and in several countries in Africa after he retired. Bud was active in Rotary International, both in St. Catharines and in Ottawa, and was a Paul Harris fellow. He enjoyed the many friendships he made with Rotary, as well as the good works of the clubs. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Rotary Club of West Ottawa (rcwo.org). Tributes, condolences, and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
