Armel Wolensky
April 10, 1953 – May 13, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Armel on May 13, 2020 at the age of 67 years. He was predeceased by his father Charles, mother Helene, and brother Onile. Left to carry on his legacy are: his companion Marilyne; Children Joel (Leanne), Jeremy (Lisa), Nadine (Trent), Melissa (Ryan), and Kevin (Kaylyn); Grandchildren: Ethan, Carter, Stella; Callie, Charlie, Oliver; Rori, Morgan; Amy, Katie, Hayden; Brae, Maddyn, and Messer; Siblings: Odette (Laurent), Soeur Gertrude, Real (Jeannette), Adeline (Royal), Lianne (Luc), Laurel; his ex-wife Pat as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his extended Carriere and Paradis family. Mel will always be remembered for his jokes and ability to make people laugh and smile. He had a love for sports and some of his fondest memories were with the Bellegarde Raiders, Storthoaks Wings, Carnduff Angels, and the over 35 Moosomin Mets ball team. He also loved coaching his kids and watching his grandchildren carry on the love of sports that he instilled in his children. His hard work ethic was something he was always proud of. Mel would always come to work early and never leave a job unfinished. His philosophy of “it’s not how much you have, it’s who you have” is truly admirable. He loved backyard gatherings, being outdoors, took pride in his yard and of course his Christmas light displays. Most of all, he was proud of his large family and loved to see the look on peoples’ faces when he said they had 28 grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank Dr Dolata and the staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, Dr. Velestuk, Nurse Kelly, home care and all of the staff at the Moosomin Hospital for their care and support during his final days.
Due to the current circumstances, there will be a private family internment followed by a celebration of his life at a later date when circumstances allow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local minor sports association.
