Anne Maurice Gibson 1955 2020

Obituary of Anne Maurice Gibson
GIBSON, Anne Maurice passed away peacefully on Friday April 10, 2020 in her 65th year. She was the beloved daughter of the late Mildred Mary Gibson (nee Savage) and the late Neil Kevin Gibson. Our parents often reminded their six other children that Anne was a ‘living saint’ who could do no wrong. In spite of this, Anne was cherished by her siblings John and Cheryl Gibson (Orono); Kevin and Barbara Gibson (Peterborough); Mary Gibson (Oshawa); Hugh Gibson (Whitby); Catharine Gibson (Kingston) and Edward and Teresa Gibson (Kingston). She was also Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank Ongwanada staff at Elizabeth Avenue who lovingly cared for Anne during this long and difficult journey. We would also like to acknowledge and thank the many other staff who cared for Anne since mom and dad passed over 35 years ago.
A Liturgy of the Word will be privately held in the Chapel at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 Counter Blvd, on Wednesday, April 15th, with Monsignor Joseph Lynch officiating. Rite of Committal with Prayers will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Anne will be buried with her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Ongwanada for those who knew Anne and wish to attend. Should you care to donate funds in memory of Anne, the “Sunburst Fund”, c/o Community Living Kingston and District, 541 Days Rd, Unit 6, Kingston, K7M 3R8 allows individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or their family to apply for funds designed to address unmet costs associated with the individual’s disability.
