It is with love and great sadness and that we the family announce the passing of Anna Lavigne, née Perugini, wife of the late Joseph Aurele Lavigne, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 21st, 2020 at the age of 96.
Anna was born in Avellino, Italy, in 1923. She was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Elvira (Sensale) Perugini. She came to Canada in 1945 as an Italian war bride, to Shippagan, N.B and to Bathurst 10 years later.
She is survived by her youngest sister, Rosetta (Avellino), her children: George (Murielle) of Ottawa, Alphonse (Dolores) of Bathurst, Gaetano of Burlington, Ont., Elvira Lavigne, of Ottawa, ON, Carl (Line) of Fredericton and Andrew (Jennifer Innes) and her grandchildren: Matthew and Phillip both of Moncton, René of Ottawa and Marc of Sarnia, ON.
Besides her husband Aurele (2013), she was predeceased by her sisters: Ninuccia, Amelia, Guila, Maria, Clara, Sisina and her brother Alfonso.

The family is grateful for the care Anna received at the Southern Comfort Villa, and from the doctors and staff at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, funeral services will be delayed.
Donations in memory of Anna may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 18, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
