Etere, Anna
With heartfelt sorrow the family of Anna Etere announces her passing on November 11, 2020 at the age of 93.
Anna passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Nursing Home in Oshawa in the company of her family after a lengthy illness with dementia.
Anna was born in the beautiful town of Ravello on the Amalfi Coast of Italy. It was love at first sight when she met Michael (predeceased 2008) in Italy during the war and later after the war came to England where they married in 1947. In 1982, with her husband, she came to join part of her family in Canada and made Canada her home.
Hardworking, compassionate and sweet Anna was dedicated to the sick and elderly at St. Mary of the People in Oshawa for many years and was loved by all her friends at the church.
Anna will be dearly missed by her daughters Rosemarie Halliday of Canada and Tina Fraignuex (son-in-law David) of Australia along with her grandchildren Marina (Matt) of Australia, Simon (Dina) of Canada, Michele (Roy) of Australia and Mark (Lucy) of Canada. Great-Grandchildren Jessica, Samantha, Joshua, Matthew, Sarah, Ryan, Riley, Jamie and Step Great Grandchildren Nicholas, Julianna and Anthony.
Great Great Grandchildren Alfie Benjamin, Ava Rose, Elsie (born the same day as Anna’s passing), Isobel and Anna and all extended relatives in England and Italy.
Anna, beloved Mum to your daughters and family you will be in our hearts forever and may you rest in peace that you so deserve.
Cremation has taken place. Urn Burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Online condolences may be left at www.armstrongfh.ca
