After a courageous battle with cancer, our beloved mother and Nonna, Anna Crimi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 8th, 2020 in her 96th year. Anna Crimi (nee Cottone), wife of the late Nicola Crimi (1916-2006), was born in Calatafimi, Sicily on June 26, 1924. She immigrated to Toronto, Ontario in 1957 and most recently lived in Vaughan. She is survived by her three children and their spouses Sal (Franca), Tony (Olga) and Cathy (Scott) and her cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Laura, Matthew, Daniel, Alyssa, Michael, and Marc.
Anna was the youngest of seven siblings (Francesco, Giuseppina, Antonietta, Antonino, Maria, Sebastiano, and Paola) and the last of her generation to pass. Her strong faith in God gave her much strength and comfort. For decades, she celebrated Christmas by making an elaborate Nativity scene which was enjoyed every year by many people.
The family would like to thank all our friends and relatives for their thoughtfulness and support during her struggle with cancer and now, during this celebration of her life.
A mass service will be held for Anna Crimi on Saturday, December 12th, 2020 at 10:30am for the immediate family. The service will also be electronically streamed by St Mary Immaculate Roman Catholic Parish for our extended family and friends at www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSiwQSUDJ44.
The family asks, that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (Toronto Central Council), or Hill House Hospice.
