Anna Buruk passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the age of 102. Anna was born on September 5, 1917 on a farm just outside of Sedley, Saskatchewan to Jacob and Catherine Wolbaum, spending her childhood there until moving to Winnipeg in 1939 to pursue a career as a practical nurse. It is here she met and married Stephen Buruk in 1953. They were married for 35 years until his death in 1988.
Anna is survived by her only child Catherine and her husband Alan Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan and overseas.
In accordance with Anna’s wishes, cremation has taken place on Friday, January 31, 2020 and there will be no funeral service. Flowers are gratefully declined, however donations may be made in Anna’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba.
