It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Maisonneuve (née Vézina) age 90, on April 11, 2020 in Sudbury, surrounded by the love of her family. Anita was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, by her parents Thomas and Josephine (née Monette), by her son Marc, daughter Jo-Anne (Dave) and son-in-law Jerry Neville. She was the last living member of the Vézina family, and of her in-laws, the Maisonneuve family. She survived her siblings, Théodore (Helène), Rénè (Evelyn), Georgette, Ronald and Jeannette (Mickey). She leaves behind her daughters, Lorraine Maisonneuve (David Buchanan), Louise Dignard (Robert) and Denise Neville (late Jerry). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Angela (Stewart), Gino (Lindsey), Andrea (Marc) Melanie (Sean) Rae-Anne (Kevin) and Matteo and by eight loving great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Anita was a loving mother and wife and enjoyed being a full-time homemaker who always had a meal ready to serve. She loved the sun and she and Raymond followed it to Florida every winter for several years. The family has many happy memories of Raymond and Anita at the Maisonneuve camp on Lake Nipissing, where they gathered with their extended family and friends over the years to laugh, be merry and enjoy life. Her family grieves her loss to Alzheimer’s disease but take comfort in knowing that she lived a happy and full life until that dreadful disease took hold. They are very thankful to the devoted staff of St Joseph’s long term care home, which provided comfort, care and love to Anita during her many years of residence. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date. Donations can be made by cheque or online to the Alzheimer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
