Peacefully, with her family by her side, at le Pavillon, Embrun on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Anita Lavigne (nee Pilon) of Embrun formerly of Cornwall; age 88 years. Wife of the late Alcide Lavigne. Loving mother of Lucy Rolland (Robert), Sue Robinson (Marcel) and Jan Lavigne. Cherished grandmother of Steven (Tina), Chris (Kristen), James (Stacey), Mark (Denise), Julie (Jay), Rachel (Dan), Nicole (Derek) and Andre, also proud of her 17 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Muriel Phillips, Conrad (late Solanges), Phillipe (Jeannine), Denis (late Nicole) and Lionel (Lise). Predeceased by her parents: Eugene and Ida Pilon (nee Beaupre) and siblings: Alcide (Alberthe), Edgar (late Pauline), Rene (late Gloria), Fernand (Aline), Denise Ouimet (late Fernand), Yvette Dicaire (late Lorenzo), Arthur (late Stella). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Anita was a long standing member of the Catholic Women’s League, St James Parish. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main St. South, Maxville (613-527-2898). Masks and physical distancing are required at all gatherings. A Mass of Christian burial which will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 14 Catherine Street East, Maxville, on Thursday December 3, 2020 at 11 am. For those who wish to attend the controlled attendance Mass, must call the Funeral Home, Mon. to Fri. between 9 am & 5 pm, to register your attendance. Following Mass there will be a public interment in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Cornwall at 12:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Maxville Manor Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Anita a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows-memories live.
