Obituary of Andrew Bisset Crosbie
CROSBIE, Andrew Bissett (Andy) Sept 12, 1942 to Dec 20, 2020
It is with a heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of Andy Crosbie after a lengthy struggle with his health. Andy leaves behind his much-loved life mate Jacquie Rydeard and his children, son Campbell (grandchildren Calum and Ailie) and his daughter Jennifer (grandchildren Hannah, Reid and Leif). He also leaves behind a multitude of friends and associates who will miss him dearly. He was a man with a warm heart, a generous spirit and an enormous sense of fun. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication, committed love and friendship and many wonderful memories of high spirits and good-natured laughter. Andy was born in Scotland, his family emigrating to Canada when he was a child. He never forgot his heritage and a Scottish accent would often materialize after a wee dram or two. He had a successful career at Stelco then at Paul Wurth and finally retired to the good life with Jacquie. During his lifetime, Andy was a sometime piper, brass band musician, baseball coach, fisherman, golfer, curler, avid reader and a fan of most sports with soccer being number one as a huge Hibs supporter. Above all, he was a great friend to many and a constant inspiration to his “best buddies” Bill, Hutch and Dan. Cremation has taken place and a family service is being planned.
