Amanda Marie Vlasman of Komoka passed away at London’s Victoria Hospital, early Saturday morning, March 28, 2020, at the age of 36, after a courageous and long-fought battle with cancer. Wife and best friend of Dean. Amanda and Dean married in October of 2012, later welcoming their two young boys Max, age 4, and Matthew, age 3.
Amanda was loved dearly by her family, Mom and Dad, Mac & Debbie Watson, her siblings, Stephanie Watson (Chris Knight), Chris (Erin) Watson, and Lee Watson (Erin MacDonald). Lovingly missed sister-in-law to Sean (April) Vlasman and Kara Vlasman (Mitchel Bloom) and daughter-in-law of Alieda and the late Joe Vlasman. Amanda was the cherished aunt to Charlie, Jamie, Scott, Jillian, Addison, Mason, Liam, Dylan, and Alieya.
Lovingly missed granddaughter of Mac & Marlene Watson and predeceased Willis & Marilyn Rock. With an endearing and caring smile, Amanda’s passing will be felt by the lives she has touched, including her Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends and those she worked with and for.
Amanda spent her working days as a PSW working with the elderly, a job she absolutely loved and took great pride in. For fun Amanda could be found on the golf course with her husband; there Dean and Amanda became avid golfers and participated in the annual Caradoc Sands Octoberfest Scramble. Amanda’s excitement was at its peak during the annual Black Friday shopping trips as Dean and Amanda would head south in search of the “thrill of a deal”, meeting up with friends and traveling as far as Florida, Alabama, Louisiana and Tennessee.
Amanda’s greatest love, of course, was easily found in the men of her life, husband Dean and her little men Max and Matthew. Mommy’s boys. Mommy’s pride and joy.
A Trust fund is being set up in honour of Amanda for her boys through the TD Bank. Details for donations will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Trust fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Amanda’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the amazing staff at Victoria Hospital, especially the Chemotherapy staff, and staff in oncology and palliative care departments for their excellent care and support for Amanda and family. A private service and interment will take place at the Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Mark Isaac officiating. A public celebration of Amanda’s life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to M.Box & Son Funeral Home, 183 Broad Street in Parkhill 519-294-6382. Please leave a memory or condolence online at www.GilpinFuneralChapel.com
