Allen “Bob” Chanig passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 in Regina, SK at the age of 73 years. Bob was predeceased by his parents Irme and Irene Chanig. Bob leaves behind his wife Melany and children Lydia, Rachel (Eric) Driedger, Jody (Kevin) Hval and Wanda Arreola Chanig; his grandsons Isaac, Diego, Adam, Ezra, Micah, Ezekiel, Abram and only granddaughter Maisie.
Bob was born in Ponteix, SK. He spent his childhood in B.C. and Mankota, SK, and lived in many places before settling down mostly in Regina.
Bob was a man who loved to travel. In his earlier days he could be found traveling Canada and the United States on his motorcycle. He traveled to Sturgis a number of times and could be found riding with the Dry Riders in Saskatchewan. Bob disliked the cold and traveled regularly to Mexico and then to the Philippines where he met his beautiful wife Melany.
When Bob wasn’t traveling, he kept busy by making improvements to his properties and working on his vehicles. He was a true DIY kind of guy; why pay someone else when you can do it yourself.
Bob enjoyed meeting new people and you would find him, no matter the country, talking with people he just met over a cup of coffee.
There will be a Come and Go coffee and conversation for friends and family on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Haven of Hope Salvation Army.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Bob’s memory to the Haven of Hope Salvation Army, 2240-13th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3M7.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Allen Bob Chanig February 2nd 2020..
