1925-2020
Alice Marie Ruest of Tobique Narrows, NB, passed away peacefully at
Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on December 27, 2020.
Alice was born in Lake Edward, NB, on November 20, 1925. She was the
daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Rivers) Johnston. Alice leaves
behind her daughter, Myrna Glenn (Mark) of Chipman, NB; her son, Kirk
Ruest (Gail) of Tobique Narrows, NB; her five grandchildren and
thirteen great grandchildren; her brother, Delmer Johnston (Mary) of
Lake Edward, NB.
Alice was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Thomas Ruest; her
daughter, Therese Murchison; her son, Ronald Ruest; her sisters,
Myrtle Johnston, Effie Dunster, Laura LaFrance, Florence Smith,
Marietta Connell, and Mildred Downey; her brothers, Alex, Ivan,
Stephen, Willard Johnston.
Alice worked as a clerk in a local grocery store and at Canada Post
prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Keenagers Club and
the Anglican Church Women’s Group.
Respecting Alice’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or
funeral held. A graveside service will be held at Trinity Anglican
Cemetery in the spring.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Barry
Wecker, the Extra-Mural nurses, the employees from CVCVB who provided
Alice with home care for the past three years, and the nurses at the
hospital who looked after Alice during her last days. Mum was provided
with excellent quality of care for which we are very grateful. Thank
you.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Southern Victoria Cancer
Assistance Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
