Alice’s Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Alice Lorraine(Alice) Goosney nee Hatcher announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Monday September 28th.,2020 at the age of 78.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Patsy (Gerald) Reid, Donna (Garry) Bugden and son Gaylan (Kathy) Hanson. Her grandchildren Roland, Scott and Natasha whom she dearly loved . Step- children; Shawn, Christine, Boyd, Tracy, Keith and Craig. Sisters; Evelyn (Allen) Brough and Ivy ( Terry) Welsh. Brothers; Edmund ( Freda) Hatcher, Gerald (Joan) Hatcher, William (Bev) Hatcher, Clayton (Cynthia) Hatcher, George (Ruth) Hatcher and sister-in-law Madeline Penney. Also leaving to mourn are a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends.
Elaine was predeceased by her loving husband Roland Goosney (1980) and also her second devoted husband Willis Major; her parents Georgina and George Hatcher. Brothers; Joe (Mary), Lionel (Mary), Terrance (Maxine) and Wayne (Vera). Sister Madeline (Russell) Laing. Mother & father-in-law Charity and Gilbert Goosney; sister-in-law’s Amy Goosney, Mary(Melvin) Robinson, Frances(George) Galliott and brother-in-law Max Penney, nieces Ivy ,Jennifer, Katelyn, Jane and Annette; nephews Aiden and Gerald.
Visitation will take place at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd in Norris Point on Wednesday September 30th, 2020 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm also where the funeral service will take place on Thursday October 1st , 2020 at 2pm with the Rev. Wilhelmena Green officiating. The funeral service can be viewed through live stream on our facebook page ;Parsons Funeral Home (Deer Lake). Interment will follow at the family plot in the old Anglican Church Cemetery in Norris Point. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions the service will be restricted to family and close friends.

A sincere thank-you is extended to the staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and to the fourth floor dialysis unit who so lovingly cared for Mom for the past five years of dialysis treatment and to Dr. Bowen and the staff at Bonne Bay Health Centre in Norris Point. We would also like to thank Rev. Russell for his caring and compassion shown to our family during our last moments with mom. Also to the staff at Parsons Funeral Home for your help during this difficult time.
