CUNNINGHAM, Alex
June 13, 1942 – August 30, 2020
We are saddened to announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Alex at his residence in his 79th year. Dear father of Katherine and Sherri Lee Louwes (Steve). Grandfather of Candace and Owen. Will be forever loved and missed by Doreen Middleton, whom he affectionately called “Do”. Fondly remembered by Kelly, Karen, Jimmy, Nancy and Christina.
Alex loved the “hunt camp” with the “river view”. He spent most summers there enjoying the peaceful ambiance, boating, canoeing, fishing and watching wildlife. He eventually transitioned from hunting to photography and became a master at capturing the beauty of nature in photos. He was a gifted and talented dancer who was in his element when on the floor. He was a lover of music with eclectic taste. A proficient builder who didn’t back away from difficult projects. He built his own homes and remodeled many others. He was a skilled craftsman using his ingenuity to personalize his homes with a variety of unique and natural materials. He had an intelligent and quirky sense of humour…his use of puns is legendary. Once he made a friend…. he kept them and he made every effort to stay in contact. He was very fortunate to have made and maintained numerous life long friendships that he cherished. He will be missed by many.
A celebration of Alex’s life will be held and announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home www.menardfh.com
