Obituary
THOMA, ALBIN (AL)
It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Saturday, February 1, 2020. He was born on March 27, 1947 in Göettingen, Germany.
He is survived by his loving family, one son, Alvin Thoma, three daughters, Joanne (Eugene) Bourgeois, Sylvia (Kevin) Connell and Michelle (Stephen) Jabs; seven grand children, Nina (Tim) Kooter, Steven (Kayla) Bourgeois, Nicholas (Vanessa) Bourgeois, Ethan Connell, Adam Connell, Andrew Jabs and Matthew Jabs; five great-grandchildren, Marritt Kooter, Theo Kooter, Wren Bourgeois, Daliah Bourgeois, and Nova Bourgeois. He also leaves to mourn many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends in Canada and Germany.
Al is now reunited with the love of his life Margaret (Marg) who passed away on February 21, 2019.
He is predeceased by his siblings Freda Anaka, Gerti Labrecque, Hilda Eberhardt, Alfred Thoma and sister-in-law Kay Thoma; mother Mary, father Anton; mother-in-law, Maria, father-in-law, Johann; sister-in-law, Tillie Nelisher, brother-in-law, Bill Nelisher and many other family and friends who are all there to welcome him home.
Prayer Service and viewing will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Barrhead. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Barrhead with interment following at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Barrhead.
Donations gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice. Westlock Funeral Home in charge of arrangements 780-349-3474.
