Obituary of Albert Gerald Cross
With heavy hearts we announce that Albert “Gerald” Cross of Estlin, SK, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020 at the age of 81. He is survived by spouse Viola; daughters Wendy Clay, Kim (Fraser) Clampitt, Cheryl (Joe Lewis), Carol and son Darcy (Treena); grandchildren Robyn (Adam) Kostiuk; and great granddaughter Pyper, Sydney and Logan Clampitt, Jordyn and Joshua Taylor; brother Robert (Loreen); as well as many nieces, nephews, the Fiessel family and many lifelong friends. He is predeceased by his parents Sidney and Edna; and sisters Margaret (Joe) Masters, and Dorothy (George) Boszak.
Remaining young at heart, Albert was always helping family and neighbours. Those who knew him know he always had the time and patience to share his wealth of knowledge. He supported the community missing very few Tuesday card nights, Friday night suppers or Sunday breakfasts at Gray where we all knew we would likely have to wait by the coat rack until he finished chatting! When he wasn’t chatting, you could often find him tinkering with something – there was nothing Albert couldn’t fix. He often seemed invincible as he was never afraid to accept a new challenge and persevered when things didn’t work out the first time. For nearly 62 years with Viola by his side they tried new things, built an amazing partnership, family, and life together.
Albert viewed life as a journey that included a spoonful of peanut butter in one hand and a glass of rum in the other, always living life as one long fun bike ride right until the end.
A private service for the family will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined, those wishing to may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
