Alan’s Obituary
DOLLIVER, Alan David – of Clarks Harbour passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital after a long hard battle with COPD. Alan was the son of the late Arthur and Elaine Dolliver of Shelburne. Alan started his working life at the Barrel Factory in Shelburne, before moving to British Columbia where he worked in the mines. After getting married and starting a family, Alan moved back to Nova Scotia where he began his truck driving career at Connor Brothers, then becoming a long term fixture at Wilsons Home Hardware. Alan was a volunteer with the Clarks Harbour Fire Department, and was a Scouter with the 3rd Barrington Scouting Group. Alan enjoyed spending time with his family, going camping, and creating beautiful woodworking projects for all of his family. He leaves behind his loving family: wife Marian (Hopkins) of Jordan Bay; sons David (Beth) of Lower Sackville; Timothy (Erica) of Sandy Point; and Adam of North Chegoggin; and daughter Nicole of Dartmouth; grandchildren Cameron, Ashton, Nevaeh, Patrick, Lillie and Emma. Beside his parents, Alan was predeceased by his brothers Glen (Beverly), Barry, Richard (Lillian), Michael (Sharon), and sister Virginia (Werner). Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Barrington. No visitation. A memorial service will take place on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 2pm at the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, reception to follow immediately after at the Lions Hall in Barrington. Due to Covid-19 restriction, seating will be limited and social distancing guidelines must be followed (Immediate family will be given priority for seating). The service will be live fed the day of the service on the Huskilson’s Funeral Homes Facebook site. Memorial donations may be made to Roseway Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
