Memorial Donation
It is with great sorrow that the family of the late Aiden Mahoney announce his sudden passing at the age of 75 years on April 28, 2020 at his home. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 48 years, Ivy; daughter Bernadine (Steve) Borden of Corner Brook; son Brent Mahoney (Jody Williams) of Corner Brook and his treasured grandchildren Ryder and Tenley Borden and Aiden and Alex Williams-Mahoney. Also left to mourn are his brother Daniel (Mildred) Mahoney of Harbour Breton; sisters Linda (John deceased) Moon of Cookeville, TN, Helen (Elijah) Skinner of Isle aux Morts, Salome (Jason) Smith of Pools Cove and special in laws, Barbara Mahoney, Peggy (Roger) Fifield, Larry (Joanne) Thornhill, Leo (Christable) Thornhill, Rick (Brenda) Thornhill, Alvina (Merlin) Meade, Derek (Helena) Thornhill and a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Aiden was an avid reader, an outdoor and nature enthusiast with a deep passion for photography. He was friendly and met new people wherever his adventures led him. Aiden spent countless hours volunteering for various charities that were dear to his heart such as local SPCA’s, Nature Conservancy of Canada and Bay St. George Fracking Awareness Group. He would always be the first to lend a hand and loved and cherished his family immensely.
Aiden was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Ellen Mahoney, brother Lawrence Mahoney and sisters Rosalyn Barker and Paulette Stringer. Due to the COVID-19 health restrictions, there will be no visitation or service at this time, to be announced at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to either Southwest Coast SPCA or Nature Conservancy of Canada, both of which were special to him.
